Ring Sizes

At first glance, establishing the ring size for your chosen finger can seem like a complicated task. This is because manufacturers of rings from different countries worldwide adopt their local Ring Sizing measurement standards. Whilst most use the metric system, some use measurements in inches. Ireland, the UK and Australia uses an A-Z alphabetical system starting from “A” for the smallest size, which is known as the Wheat Sheaf system. The USA & Canada use a numerical system with whole numbers divided into fractions. In reality, a measurement to the nearest whole unit should be sufficient for purchasing a costume jewellery ring.

If you are buying an expensive ring or an item you intend to wear permanently, then we recommend that you visit a reputable High Street jeweller's shop and get the ring size for you finger(s) measured accurately by a trained member of staff. Otherwise, there is a simple way to check your ring size, as follows:

1.Wrap a piece of paper or thin string around your finger

2.Mark the point where the two ends meet, making allowance for the size of your knuckle which the ring must pass over

3.Measure the string or paper against a ruler which is divided into millimetre (mm) increments

4.This measurement is your ring size Inside Circumference measured in millimetres

Then refer to the chart below to establish your ring size.  As a guide, the commonest sizes for adult ladies' rings are 6 to 8 (or M to Q) whereas most men buy within the range of 9 to 11 (R to W).
